Visit Mâcon

The capital of Southern Burgundy

Mâcon, with its “Station Classée de Tourisme” French tourist site certification, is at the crossroads of many major European connections. Particularly well-served by transport links (road, high-speed train, boat, and plane) the capital of Southern Burgundy stretches along the western bank of the Saône, between La Bresse in the east and the Beaujolais mountains to the south.

From archaeology to contemporary art, Mâcon’s rich cultural heritage is particularly well represented in its intimate centre, close to our hotel. With a stay at the PANORAMA 360, you will be within easy walking distance of the city’s main sights: the Maison de Bois, the Vieux Saint-Vincent towers, Les Ursulines Museum, Hotel Senecé, which keeps alive the memory of Alphonse de Lamartine (a poet and politician from Mâcon), Saint-Pierre church, Saint-Laurent bridge…

Nearby, you will find routes which will take you round Mâconnais Romanesque churches, Solutré Rock, Cluny Abbey, and Comartin and Brancion castles...
